I cannot believe it is almost the middle of November, which is National Diabetes Awareness Month. I crossed out national because there are other people around the world celebrating National Diabetes Awareness Month, not just people in America. I like to think of it as World Diabetes Month. We all know there are a lot of fantastic initiatives going on both on and offline.

This year we will be hosting a 24-hour World Diabetes Day  Twitter Chat on November 14, 2016.  #WDDChat16 will begin at 12 am ET and at the stroke of midnight.  I am honored and thankful to have the community participate and host in this year’s Twitter Chat.    Please feel free to join us, the topics and Twitter handles that you will need to follow can be found here. If you join us, include the #WDDChat16 hashtag in your tweets.  If you are new to Twitter or have never participated in a Twitter chat, this is an excellent to reference and get you up to speed before Monday morning. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to me at cherise@diabetessocmed.com.

DSMA on World Diabetes Day – November 14th

You’re Invited to attend the World Diabetes Day Twitter Chat

I cannot believe it is almost the middle of November, which is National Diabetes Awareness Month. I crossed out national because there are other people around the world celebrating National Diabetes Awareness Month, not just people in America. I like to think of it as World Diabetes Month. We all know there are a lot of amazing initiatives going on both on and offline. Amy wrote a great post about them here, go check out and get involved.

A year ago, the DSMA Team and myself thought it would be a great idea to host a 15-24 hour twitter chat during WDD. A few things have changed since then; there are three new twitter chats and one on the horizon. It is amazing to see how much diabetes twitter chats as grown over the past 3-4 months. I emailed 15 friends to see if they were interested in hosting, and the response was phenomenal.
