DSMA Live: ‘Rents Afterthoughts | #SpareARose with Kerri Sparling

Screen Shot 2014-02-12 at 1.23.14 PMIt’s Valentines week and a storm is coming (at least in my area here in the northeast of the US)! Many of you won’t be able to go out and get roses – no worries! Give the gift of life instead from the comfort of your home!

That was the focus of this week’s DSMA Live: ‘Rents – the Spare A Rose Campaign. Kerri Sparling, person with diabetes and blogger at SixUntilMe.com, joined us to talk about the impact the diabetes community is having as they come together to support a program of the International Diabetes Federation.

The concept is easy and the impact is significant – this Valentine’s Day, buy one less rose and donate the cost of that rose to the IDF’s Life for a Child program. The money will be used to buy insulin for children with diabetes who would not otherwise have it. Spare a whole bouquet, and you save a child’s life for an entire year!!

Visit sparearose.org to donate to this worthy cause, and listen in to this week’s show for more information.
