By | September 23, 2013

Anna FloreenBack in June, Anna Floreen spoke with us about her experience in the Beacon Hill Study, aka The Bionic Pancreas.

As the Manager for Glu Community Outreach at T1D Exchange, a T1D online community, Anna works to provide the type 1 community with continual resources and ongoing connectivity for people affected by type 1 diabetes.

In 2009, she created and implemented the first American Diabetes Association’s Youth Leader Program and oversaw all youth and family programs across New England for three years. Anna is also a very active volunteer alumnus with the Barton Center for Diabetes Education.

Most recently, she participated in the Beacon Hill Bionic Pancreas Study, a clinical trial which prompted an enormous increase in online Glu membership and interest from parents and those affected by type 1 worldwide through her daily blogging describing her week-long experience as a research subject.

You can read Anna’s chronicles here, and also follow her co-worker, Bill Woods of Glu, who more recently did his own Beacon Hill Study.
